In the 21st century, exploring space is considered one of the most trending businesses among well-known entrepreneurs. For that reason, many governments would like to stay ahead of the curve by spending large amounts of funds on space experimentation. However, there are considerable merits and demerits behind investing a great amount of money in rocket science. In the following paragraphs, I will explain how the advantages outweigh the disadvantages with examples.
To begin with, one of the best merit is the uknowness of the galaxy, with thousands and millions of researches and discoveries done, our space still is not completely known. Scientists claim, that with today’s breakthrough, they have learned only about 30-40% of the universe, while the rest part remained unidentifiable. Moreover, offering possibilities for exploration for students, researchers, and entrepreneurs are diverse, which may in the foreseeable future help to find the planet that perfectly suits humanity.
In stark contrast, there are a couple of demerits that should draw our attention. Firstly, authorities spend a huge amount of the government’s budget on an exploration of unidentifiable, whereas their citizens suffer from poverty. To picture this point, India allocates sufficient funds on rockets or equipment, which by a little mistake crash and simply will waste the money, but it will not help poor people.
To conclude, many governments are willing to find new living places, spending countless money for the purpose, whereas there are problems that can be solved same budget. Still, my take is that spending time and money on space exploration is worth it in the long term and has more pros than cons.
