Band 4: Many local languages today are dying out due to the rise of languages like English (User-Written IELTS Writing Task 2 Essay)

Today people are learning global languages such as English. Local languages are disappearing due to improve of languages like English. In this essay,I will compare the advantages and disadvantages of this development and finally decide if it is positive or not.

One the one hand, there are negative aspects that disappearing of local language. Firstly personal identity is dying out.This is because there are local people forget their customs . As a result, their culture is disappearing.Secondly, historical records in this language disease. The reason for this is that people do not use these records. Therefore,local records will become useless .

On the other hand, these are positive aspects of the rise of languages like English. Firstly, easily communication between people of different nations. This is because there are no local languages among the people As a result ,tourists and local people communicate easily. Secondly, local people do not need to spend years to learn a global language. The reason for this is that Global language become a local one’s. Therefore, local people’s lives become lighter.

In conclusion, the rise of global languages lead to the death of local languages. However, I firmly believe that this can be changing a positive development. Above- mentioned facts and reasons have persuaded me to think so.
