More and more museums require payment for admission while some of them are totally free of cost. In this essay, I will mention both merits and demerits of charging free for admission in museums and also give my one opinion regarding this notion.

To begin, the most significant benefit of taking fee as a charge in museum is the development of infrastructure in that venue. The amount collected from the individuals are spent on an development task of that museum. Those include improvement in matters regarding safety and security, renovation of prehistoric items which are in the verge of destruction and access of better roads to reach the museum. In addition,the certain percentage of charges that people pay in museum will be granted by government in the form of tax which is a source of income for a country. For example when a tourist visits a museum of Nepal they pay certain amount as admission fee that is collected by the government and can be used in development sector.

Beside several benefits, charging people for admission in museum consists of variety of detrimental effects as well. There will be lack of interest among people regarding museum if they charge certain amount. To give an example, most museum of USA charge $30 as admission fee. This deters peoples interest towards museum. People not finding museum interesting anymore as a result no one will visit museum and government want invest in this sector as well. Further more the prehistoric items with a massive value will be damage due to lack of concern by the government. Ifmuseum charges tourist won’t visit that site and they will be detered towards it as it affect the promotion of the sides as well as not all financial constraints will get to experience valuable information.

In conclusion,museums will face more and more development every aspects since government can collect revenue and allocate it in different sectors of museums. On the other hand, people won’t be interested anymore if they charge admission and creates lack of desire among people.However, I believe that there are more advantages than its demerits as it is beneficial for country as well as its development
