Given the importance of career, the question of how citizens get close with their families has become a contentious issue. It is widely recognized that a number of employees working abroad are accompanied by their families. In my opinion, while there are some drawbacks, it seems that the merits of this phenomenon overshadow them.
On the one hand, this trend has several disadvantages. In a foreign country, workers may face higher living expenses, such as for food, transportation, and electricity, which can be more expensive than in their hometown. This can strain the household’s finances and potentially lower their living standards. Additionally, there are numerous challenges related to national cultures. Language barriers and cultural differences can hinder the effective communication and social integration of immigrants. For instance, in some Western countries, it is common to greet others with a handshake or eye contact, whereas in many Asian countries, a bow or a formal greeting is expected. Therefore, there are troubles when they have conversations together, causing mental problems to residents.
However, the benefits of this development must be highlighted when it comes to educational access and life-skill advancements. With regard to the former, children will possess chances to enroll in superior schools, as the top universities tend to be concentrated in developed nations. Consequently, this may enhance their future potential. For instance, Vietnamese students who study in the US often find better job opportunities upon returning home thanks to the prestige of their qualifications and the higher incomes offered by employers. As for the lifestyles, living abroad allows families to develop valuable life skills, such as proficiency in a second language and improved adaptability. These experiences contribute to a more diverse and enriched life.
In conclusion, while there are notable disadvantages to families relocating abroad, the positive aspects, particularly in education and personal growth, outweigh the drawbacks. The enhanced opportunities and experiences gained can lead to a more prosperous and fulfilling future for all family members.
