Many individuals cannot even imagine leaving their motherland because of their fear of becoming a victim of a crime. On this occasion people are divided into two groups. First group believe that this trend could be prevented by implementing stricter security guards on the streets. Others think that this is unstoppable because governments do not have funds that could maintain large amounts of police officers with monthly wages. Personally, I side with those who think that this trend unpreventable due to pure human nature which is inherently tend to commit crime regardless policy.
Those who believe that crime could be prevented say that putting more police and security officials will build trust not only among citizens but among foreign comers too. Moreover, due to high security, crime committers will ponder before taking another step in their “career”. For example, in famous street of India, where tourists are always crowded, it was not rare to see people complaining about lost of their pocket, phones or even children. But after the government officials decided to build a police office and fulfill this street with security guards, the situation had changed. People started to walk more freely and level of crime decreased significantly.
On the other hand, others hold the view that nothing can be done because of the economic limits of many countries. To assist police with salary, government will have to take money from several fundings which were first organized for charities and for establishment of public schools or kindergartens. If that is not the case, tax rates may become higher and living will become rather expensive. Eventually, it can lead to dissatisfaction among citizens.
From my own perspective, I believe that this trend is unstoppable because of the pure human nature. Crime is deeply ingrained into human society, and it is an inevitable part of it. Because there are several psychological and emotional factors that could not be controlled by government’s policy.
In conclusion, although some actions could be taken to reduce crime rates, this phenomenon is not entirely avoidable due to economic limits and human nature.
