There are significant number of people who prefer to spend a big chunk of their time watching alone in the comfort of their home. The problem with this is that there are some positives and negatives about this topic. Personally, I would focus on the advantages for it could result in good quality rest and freedom for whatever show you watch.
Naturally, the drawbacks of watching TV shows by yourself could result in boredom as well as lack of human interaction. Back then, people would gather in the living room and watch shows that could entertain the whole family. If an individual tends to watch TV alone, the entertainment factor that these shows offer would be useless. On top of that, as the saying goes, “no man is an island,” people are designed to socialize and discuss their interests, in this matter, the shows that they love to watch. For instance, you cannot fully release your emotion when watching k-drama if you would not share and talk about it to your friends.
On the other hand, there are a few advantages in watching tv shows alone for example; people that are introverted could enjoy their leisure time even more, and there is no limitation on what you want to watch. In recent times, an increasing number of people prefer being alone rather than with someone, either their family, friends or even their significant other. The reason is that, they could recharge their body more. Thus, watching alone, laying down on their state-of-the-art living room sofa may help them recharge faster. Furthermore, if you are alone, your freedom in choosing what show and genre you like would be limitless. For example, if I’m left by myself in our house, I could watch the nastiest, scariest, and eye gouging movies I want.
Despite the belief of TV shows should be enjoyed by people, the benefits such as a good quality rest, and the liberty of choosing the content an individual could watch could enhance the overall well-being of a person. In my view, the assets of watching TV shows alone outweigh the preceded downsides.
