In recent years the debate of whether it is school’s responsibility to teach children how to eat healthy or do parents bear the responsibility for children’s daily consumption has been matter of contention. In my perspective, it is obligation of both to take care of youngsters meals.
A primary reason why many considers parents as ultimate guiders is because unlike schools they led their children with example. They can enjoy, for instance, from the very own meal they made after their learning course, therefore real experience is indispensable for persuading the young. Also youngsters are often fascinated with new things they have got to discover, and with parents, someone children trusts and admires, the experience gets even more intriguing, for example, being around family members creates a warm environment, especially when they get to learn something together children gets lots of validation and approval from their parents, making cooking healthy meal or learning about nutrition great and also fascinating for children.
However, schools also plays crucial role in guiding children for good. Many see schools as only academic field where the only duty of children is to study hard, but this idea is rather flawed. Schools also led children to behave well and therefore they are responsible for pupils, and that includes healthy life style with balanced diet. Schools is where children spend most of their time and there is methods where teachers can use to urge children into eating healthy. Firstly, they have to provide pupils with nutritious meals and take the responsibility to keep their well-being in check. Secondly they should get rid of intimidating snacks which can be found in local shops near schools, this can be avoided by not allowing any store near the schools. Moreover, 2017 American research shows that children learn better among their peers in that case schools. Being around other children ignites interest among others and with fascination by other youngster everyone want to be part of the course.
In conclusion, the argument of whether teaching children eating healthy is school’s or parent’s responsibility is a simple one. Without help from other side it is difficult to achieve great results.
