In the era of internet, all the data is shared via social media, television and news apps, which raises the concern for the authenticity of the data available. Intellectuals believes that, it shapes the decision making and ideas of our society as they are the only sources of daily updates. Other argues that social media does not hold the strength to manipulate masses. I completely believe, that the social media and newspapers directly feed the brain and in turn responsible for our behavior and thinking.
On one hand, people argue that media influences the society because all age groups are consuming media content on daily basis and develop their perspectives accordingly. Furthermore, as the authenticity of data is not verified and lacks proper sources for references, it may lead to social dispute between different communities and organizations. For example, a false news related to fake government policy may result in market crash and investment losses.
On the other hand, it is contended that media does not manipulate the thought process of an individual as they believe that every person have their own thinking capability and thought process. Moreover, media does not hold the power to exploit any fact according to their benefits. For example, if media tries to present a false news, strict actions will be taken against them by the government agencies and penalties will be imposed upon them.
In conclusion, I completely believe that the media is responsible for molding thoughts, behavior of an individual and in turn shapes the future of the nation. Therefore, government should have strict regulatory policies and rules for any illegal manipulation.
