Band 6+: Many people feel it is a waste of money to try to save endangered animal species, for example the tiger or the blue whale. To what extent do you agree or disagree with this statement?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

Some people believe that spending money to protect endangered animals is not necessary. However, I strongly disagree with this idea. I will share my viewpoint about this statement in the essay.

To begin with, saving endangered animals helps to maintain the balance of biodiversity. If one species dies out, it can affect other animals and plants. For example, tigers help control the number of deer, which in turn prevents overgrazing of grasslands. Without tigers, deer populations could grow significantly, damaging the environment. This shows that spending money on conservation is important to protect the balance of ecosystems. Additionally, some endangered animals have special cultural meanings. For instance, pandas are not only loved by many people but also represent China’s national pride. Protecting these animals helps to keep cultural values alive. If these species become extinct, it would be a loss not only for nature but also for the culture of many countries. Therefore, preservation also helps protect human heritage.

In contrast, some people argue that money should be spent on more urgent problems, like solving famine in Africa and focusing on helping people. Perhaps, they think that the environmental issues in the world are not profound impact on their private life so they don’t care enough to spend money protecting some threatened species. Furthermore, it is difficult to protect some species in their natural habitats. For example, polar bears are in danger because their environment is shrinking due to climate change. Thus, if government want to conserve them in authentic environment, this solution might be expensive and inefficient to protect rare bears.

To sum up, although there are some concerns about the cost of saving endangered animals, I believe it is really crucial. Protecting the balance of nature, keeping cultural traditions, and finding a way to balance human and environmental needs are all worth the investment.

It is suggested that everyone wants to have a car, a television and a fridge. Do disadvantages of this development for society outweigh advantages?

Today many people around the world want to buy consumer goods like cars, televisions, and refrigerators. On the one hand, there are clear disadvantages when everyone owns these things. First, cars cause a lot of air pollution […]

In modern life, it is widely believed that innovative technologies can replace the role of artists, while others argue about this statement. I contend that even though how far technology will be developed, the art which is done by humans cannot be replaced. For the reason that any type of robots cannot create art by […]

Nowadays young people know less about traditions and culture than in the past. What are the reasons for it? Is this positive development or a negative development?

While the younger generation increasingly lacks a deep awareness of their cultural heritage, I firmly believe that this shift represents a highly negative development for society. One of the primary reasons for this lack of knowledge is the current academic system. Educational institutions today focus heavily on courses that will help students secure a place […]
