People have different views as to whether students should learn from digital devices or they use paper based materials. Both schools of throught could be true in their own rights, but I agree with the former view.
One argument in favor of using printed materials is that they promote better concentration and memory. That is to say, when learners read from physical books, they are less likely to be distracted by notification or social media. For example, textbooks, novels and academic journals allow learners to focus on the content. As a result, students would retain knowledge for a longer period of time. If it were not for paper based materials, many students would struggle to concentrate in a world full of digital distractions. Given that, printed materials still hold an place important place in education.
However, the opposite argument is that online resources provide more advantages for modern learners. That is to say, when learners use digital materials, they would access information anytime and anywhere. For instance, platforms such as online libraries, BBC podcast and IELTS platforms. Consequently, students save both time and money while staying informed about latest research. If it were not for online resources, learners would not be able to keep up with the fast-changing world knowledge. Given that, online resources helps for students find information anywhere and anytime.
In conclusion, although printed materials help students concentrate and remember information more effectively, online resources assist learners to find essential information anytime and anywhere. I believe more students prefer learn from digital materials than paper based materials, because it is very comfortable.
