In today’s digital era, technology have been developed so far that students are using it for study purpose. While some people believe that students should study from online e-books and websites, others argue that it will be beneficial for pupils to learn from printed materials. In my opinion, learners should adopt both ways to study, as online and printed materials are equally valuable.
On the one hand, many people feel that learning from online materials is cheaper than printed material because almost all online materials are free of cost. For instance, there is a website called ‘Read What You Want’, where you can get any e-book to read on computer at no charge. Furthermore, another reason is that online materials are easily accessible from anywhere and anytime, which is significantly convenient for pupils to learn without lifting heavy burden of printed materials.
On the other hand, individuals think physical materials is ideal way to study because it will help students to protect their eyes from excessive amount of screen time. According to study done by National Health Association (NHA), the number of students having spectacles due to significant screen time is twice the number of students who use to study from physical books and notes. Moreover, pupils can write down notes in physical materials for future reference to revise quickly. For example, some biology students make notes in the anatomy book so they can remember during their exam time.
In conclusion, both e-materials and printed materials play essential role in students learning environment. Although many persons feel online materials are cheaper and easily available, other believe physical materials aid students to protect eyes and to write down notes into it. Therefore, I strongly believe that students should not only use online materials but also study from physical materials depending upon necessity.
