There is a growing public opinion that learners should use online materials while others believe betterment of using hard copies of lesson materials. This essay discusses both sides of this argument and then I will give my own opinion.
Some people believe that using printed materials is better for students. One of the main reasons for this is that using paper materials does not pose a risk to the eyes. In addition, there is a belief that learning from hard copies is more effective and that the materials learned in this way are remembered more because they are easier to use, take notes, etc. Research shows that the reading speed from paper materials is 2 times faster than reading from a screen.
However, I consider the use of online resources to be more beneficial. The main reason for this is the pollution that is currently occurring in the environment. Since online resources do not have any waste, they are more eco-friendly, although hard copies are thrown away after use and the ink and various chemical dyes that mix with them into nature are harmful. In addition, it is a known fact that a large number of trees are cut down to make paper, and cutting down a large number of trees harms nature and leads to deforestation. Using less paper materials is better for the environment.
In conclusion, although it is believed that using paper materials has a better impact on learning, I believe that using hard copies is harmful to the environment and recommend using online materials as much as possible.
