Band 5+: Many people like the fact that they no longer need to buy newspapers because there are so many free news sources online. Other people are worried that online news sources are not always reliable. Discuss both views and your own opinion.

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

Media has played a significant role in connecting people across the globe. However, there are predominantly two contrasting views where a section of society claims that purchasing newspaper has no use due to availability of online information could be false or fake. I am of the opinion that newspaper are still useful and worth buying.

Apparently, digital media has contributed in affordable and fast availability of news worldwide, which caused newspapers be out of trend. People can easily access the information from internet or mass media by just as a simple click. For example, live reporting of an event helps people to stay updated with every moment such as in sports match and olympics games. Moreover, multimedia’s reach is vast and a single news can be shared globally within a second. To exemplify, unlike newspapers, emergency alerts are issued through cell phone network providers about a criminal on a run or child abduction for the safety of the residents.

On the other side, as anyone can post anything on social networking sites, the chances are high of information being fraud or unreliable. For instance, some people with no journalism experience has started their own Youtube channels mislead public by often covering one side of the story. In addition to it, Artificial Intelligence has put glamorous facade by creating videos and images that does not really exist, which can be really harmful for the individuals who are unaware about this side of technology.

In conclusion, I largely believe that newspaper is worthy component and inseparable part of modern delivery methods of news as the articles are written by experienced journalists based on proper research by professionals which adds to the authenticity of the news.
