In recent years, a growing number of people prefer to work at home as a result of the development of information technology. However, whether working at home is beneficial to the employees has aroused heated debate. My view is that the advantages of working from home far outweigh its disadvantages.
There are series of benefits for employees working from home. One of the most significant reason why people choose complete their tasks at home is that it is more convenient for people dealing with their jobs via internet than going to the company. In modern society, people are so busy with their professional and private responsibilities, and working online would surely reduce the inconvenience with the driving long distance to the company and parking cars, which could also relieve the traffic congestion. The other reason involves the recognition that working at home could give employees opportunities to have more flexible working time, for example, they could take care of their children in the spare time during working.
On the other hand, there are of course several disadvantages of working from home. An inevitable reason that we could not ignore is that those who do not work hard could escape from the supervision of the deputy, which is likely to make negative impact on the development of the company. Moreover, it make sense to believe that the employees could not communicate with their workmates conveniently when they work from home, which can help them get along well with each other, contributing to the cooperation among different departments.
In sum, we can safely draw a conclusion that working from home has bring a lot of convenience for employees, although the companies still have a long way to go to set up regulations which could help online working efficient.
