Nowadays, some people believe that having more money and less free time is better, while others prefer earning less money and having more free time. Although having a higher income can provide people with more opportunities, I believe that having enough free time is equally, if not more, important for a happy and balanced life.
One significant reason why having more money can be beneficial is that it allows people to afford important things and invest in their future. For instance, higher education can be expensive, and people may need to pay for courses or other educational opportunities to obtain better employment. Another advantage is that people with sufficient financial resources can start their own businesses, invest their money and potentially increase their income. Furthermore, they can use some of their remaining money to make donations to people in need. In this way, having a higher income can not only improve a person’s own life but also allow them to support others.
In contrast, having plenty of free time also has several important advantages. If a person earns a lot of money but has little time for leisure, they may experience stress and eventually burn out. Constantly focusing on work or studying can negatively affect people’s mental well-being. Spending time with close friends and family, on the other hand, can help people relax and regain positive energy. For example, sitting with the whole family and remembering childhood experiences can be both relaxing and comforting. More importantly, time is one of the most valuable things in life because, unlike money, it cannot be recovered once it has been lost.
In conclusion, although money plays an important role in people’s lives and can provide valuable opportunities, I believe that people should not focus solely on earning more. Finding a balance between financial security and free time is essential, as money can be earned again, whereas lost time can never be returned.
