It is argued that good news should come up more in news. I partly agree with this statement since it is more beneficial for residents when they read news, but it will do harm for them if they do not see the bad news.
On one hand, good news will bring sense of positive for citizens. Since stories are written in moral way, people may reduce their anxiety or pressure in their life. For instance, my friend was under pressure for studying at school. She was exhausted and got sick often. However, thanks to positive news about motivation at studying that she read, she was encouraged a lot and could pull herself together. It is obvious that good things can change behaviors, attitudes toward some issue in citizens’ life.
On the other hand, if bad news was covered by good news, residents would not keep up date with situations of society. In modern world, there are certainly a number of controversial issue such as crime, violence, discrimination and so on. As a consequence, reporters should show them in order to announce to everyone and then citizens may raise their awareness. Take Ha Noi as an example. Recently, crime rate has gradually increased. To prevent this problem, a number of stories are uploaded in the Internet for city dwellers. By this way, people will know how bad situation in their community and also have the solutions to protect themselves. Moreover, young people tend to realize and distinguish the negative and positive effects so they can avoid bad things. Clearly, bad news sometimes is a way that can make life safer and healthier.
In conclusion, for the reasons mentioned above, I think that media should balance the quantity of negative and positive news to convey the most wonderful things for readers.
