As a result, they have no skills, so they struggle to find employment, they may return committed to crime to earn money. For example, a former prisoner who cannot find work may start stealing again to support himself. Another reason is social rejection, Former prisoners are not accepted by society, and they can make them feel hopeless and push them back into criminal activities. Furthermore, some prisons focus more on punishment, which means prisoners do not change their mindset and behavior.
To solve this problem, governments should focus on Behavioural improvement rather than punishment. Firstly, prisons should provide education and vocational training, such as learning trades or basic computer skills. which means prisoners easily to find jobs after release. Secondly, Government should originations programs, like job placement program, drug de-addiction program and prisoner reintegration program, this all program helps to life and not committed crime return. Finally, society should give ex-prisoners a second chance. Employers could be encouraged to hire them, and community programs could help them reintegrate into normal life.
In conclusion, reoffending happens mainly because of unemployment, social rejection, and poor rehabilitation in prisons. However, by improving education, providing support, and helping former prisoners rejoin society, this problem can be significantly reduced.
