In modern world, with development of transportation system, tourism has become a widespread type of recreational activity. Some countries benefit from development of tourism, as it is an additional source of income for local communities, while othrers struggle to cope with problems, such as illegal immigration which is caused by incorporating tourism in country’s economy.
There are plenty of benefits from developing toursim in local communities, as it can boost their income level, as well as create additional job vacancies and increase genereal level of life in remote regions of developing countries. For instance, developing tourism with such activities as desert exploration and safari ride in countries of Central Africa would lead to decrease in level of poverty and unemployment, building some infrastructure, such as roads, airports, as well as developing of businesses, namely: hotels, cafes, shoppling malls and others.
Unfortunately, despite the variety of advantages from exploiting tourism in different countries, there are also a few of disadvantages referred to illegal immigration, as a result of tourism. Illegal immigration cause a lot of problems for government, as such immigrants usually work illegally or don’t have a job at all, don’t pay any taxes and increase level of poverty, unemployment and criminallity, as well. There are bunch of illegal immigrants, in developed countries, such as USA, which immigrated there using tourism visa, and live illegaly in United States for decades.
In conclusion, there are some pros and cons of tourism development in different countries, which include some economic benefits and immigration drawbacks. In my opnion, ulimately, benefits outweigh drawbacks, especially for developing countries, as they can boost their local economies.
