Band 5+: Many small businesses are being forced to close because they are unable to compete with multinational corporations. What problems does this cause and how can those problems be solved?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

It is a fact that small businesses are being forced to close because they cannot compete with multinational corporations. There are several root causes of bad marketing, and people think that small businesses are untrustworthy. However, this problem can be solved effectively. Both the causes and the solutions will be discussed in this essay.

Examining the reasons, the most common is that small businesses are not as popular as the established ones. This is because of the bad marketing, and many people don’t trust online stores. For instance, a study in Canada shows that folks trust stores more where there is brand loyalty to the customer. Moreover, the other cause is that people like to try new things from other countries, for example, my sister likes Korean food, so she only purchases goods from outside of the country where Korean food is made, not from the local stores, just for the experience.

On the other hand, to combat the issue, some productive steps can help to overcome the problems. The foremost one is that stronger marketing should be applied to the local stores, such as consistent posting on social media. Besides this, more local products could be made to meet the consumer expectations, such as clothes, food, and skincare.

In conclusion , although there are several issues due to small businesses closing, such as poor marketing and distrust, but taking steps such as stronger marketing should be applied, and local products could be made to meet consumer expectations, which can solve the problems.
