In today’s world, endangering most kinds of animals has become a vital concern. Some people believe that protecting animals with the help of countries and individuals would be the best option, whereas others argue that dealing with the main issues of people is more essential than animals. I completely believe that we should preserve and take care of nature, otherwise, the world might be a worse place to inhabit.
On one hand, it is impossible to deny that, there has been an exponential rise in diplomatic tensions, global warming, recessions, the housing crisis, rising poverty levels, and worldwide starvation. For instance, polar bears are animals that dwell in cold areas like Antarctica, but today, there are some challenges because of changing climate conditions and melting ice caps and glaciers. All human beings should come together as one community to find better opportunities for such animals.
Conversely, another factor is that countries and individuals need to join hands to fight the mass extinction of animal species. A disruption in the type of fauna native to a region could cause significant changes in the food cycle. For example, if a specific algae-eating fish species were to be completely wiped out, the outcome would be a boom in the amount of algae in water bodies. This could lead to the blocking of sunlight, which would have a major impact on photosynthesizing underwater plants. It could also cause oxygen depletion, making survival a struggle for fish with smaller gill capacities.
In conclusion, I firmly believe that governments and societies in general need to adopt more ecologically conscious views and should realize that the survival of species is interconnected and the extinction of even one could set off a chain completely. Therefore, it is not just a matter of preserving biodiversity, but a question of our survival.
