Band 6+: Many students find it difficult to concentrate at school. What are the reasons and what solutions can you suggest?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

Education has changed since last century. Nowadays, many students find it hard to concentrate or pay attention at school. The advanced technologies may be one of the reasons. This essay will analyse different reasons, and what could be down to reduce this problem.

Firstly, developed technologies cause distraction for students. We cannot imagine our life without gadgets, and we use them everyday. Individuals, especially youngsters have become addicted to social media, and short videos, which they watch online. Consequently, pupils cannot concentrate at school, because of boredom that appears due to the length of the lesson. According to my experience, I have become less concentrated after I got used to regular dopamine surge, and immediate award.

Secondly, nowadays, it is the age of artificial intelligence, and students are not fascinated about the education, because it can be simply replaced by AI. If a homework, or a project can be done without their efforts, they will not be interested in studying the subject. Youngsters do not need to pay attetion to be academic successful, as a result.

I can offer one solution, which can be done to reduce this problem. Schools should devote more time in timetable for interactive and practical learning. From my experience, my interest raises, when teachers provide time for practical projects, or make some interactive quizzes. The commpetitions provoke engagement, and students start to study, trying to be best in class. Accordingly, both teachers and pupils may become more fascinated during learning.

In conclusion, modern abilities have changed the way of learning, and individuals should make an effort to decline it. I think if the education process becomes more satisfying, more young people will be motivated to study.
