In recent years, universities have become major hubs of learning where students struggle to receive a competitive degree. Many students prefer concentrating only on their majors, while many others try to get as much out of their university lives as possible. I believe students should use valuable assets provided by their universities and try to develop themselves not only in their majors but also in various areas.
Firstly, universities are lively places presenting extraordinary experiences to their students. There are many student clubs that include a diverse range of activities such as sports, music, media, personal development, environment etc. and students can easily reach out to people with similar interests. Additionally, they may form their own student club if they cannot find an appropriate one. This enables them to develop their physical and personal capabilities while earning their degrees.
Secondly, universities are major platforms where knowledge is produced. Students can take part in different debates or conferences. By participating in events organized by other departments, students may gain valuable insights which would complement their professional educations. Moreover, this would contribute to their intellectual well-being and be a comprehensive preparatory stage for their future jobs.
Furthermore, students may consider attaining double majors at their universities. Although, obtaining a double-degree may be demanding or even consuming, it brings many advantages. Double-degree graduates often guarantee better jobs and financial situations. Students who are capable of it, may benefit from this alternative.
In conclusion, universities provide their students with many options to develop themselves personally, physically and intellectually. I think students should make use of these opportunities, rather than concentrating only on their subjects. This would be a significant approach to have happier and wealthier lives.
