Some nations are prone to replacing cultural festivals with promotional events that attract tourists from abroad. Cultural festivals are important to educate young people and tourists on the culture and traditions of nations and countries. On the other hand, global events are a good way of attracting people from abroad to join those occassions. I believe that both kinds of affairs are equally important to be held.
Younger generation like to be educated on topics by having the opportunity to experience things. Festivals that are dedicated to cultural appreciation, ethnical beliefs and heritage are an amazing way of making kids and teenagers find out about different countries. It is also a good way to showcase our own and different nations via traditional games, foods and outfits to the tourists.
Commercialized events are good for the political and financial positions of the country. Functions like COP29, WUF13, FIFA U-15 World Cup and Formula 1 Grand Prix, (which is the only one of the listed events that is being held annually), have brought so many tourists from all around the world to gather and discuss, celebrate or watch these events. The importance of these being held in Azerbaijan is to show the world the strong position the country holds in the international relations and how local people greet foreigners with a big sense of hospitality and care.
In conclusion, I don’t think that any of these outweighs the other category, since In my opinion there should be a balance in holding both kinds of functions in a country for more intelligent and woke future generations.
