However, I strongly contend that online learning is more convenient and flexible because it enables students to learn what they specifically need at the moment, rather than delve deeper without a good reason to do so.
While studying without a teacher’s pointed suggestions may seem like a great opportunity to foster students’ independence and focus on topics they find captivating, it can sometimes become a significant disadvantage in the learning journey. Having an experienced guide in the world of knowledge plays a crucial role in how quickly students learn and absorb material. The teacher develops a well-constructed and convenient way of studying the subject, making the process easier and more enjoyable. Moreover, studying any subject effectively requires a complex strategy with well-organized steps and effective methods of delivering material. Thus, learning with a teacher accelerates the process, fostering the development of introspective skills and critical thinking. For instance, students who study with a teacher—someone who has taught many generations—have the invaluable opportunity to reflect on their mistakes promptly, which certainly makes the learning process faster. Consequently, the speed at which students absorb new material increases under the guidance of a knowledgeable teacher. However, it is often difficult to find a competent teacher who truly knows their subject. Additionally, not many professionals are willing to change their methods of delivering information, which can make it more challenging for students to absorb material.
On the other hand, online materials don’t overwhelm students with stress and pressure while studying. The internet provides people with varied sources of information, making it easier to find necessary materials with preferred methods of delivery. Moreover, there are innumerable websites and YouTube channels that can help students learn, even without pointing out their mistakes directly. For instance, I study without a teacher—entirely by myself. However, despite the absence of a knowledgeable guide, I cope with learning on my own and cannot identify any significant difficulties. I have a marvelous opportunity to study whenever and wherever I want, simply by using internet platforms and websites. Additionally, I use AI to help develop my introspective skills and cultivate a fundamental understanding of grammar rules. The speed at which people learn new material also depends on motivation and necessity. Thus, if students lack both of these important qualities, it would be pointless to try to make them want to study.
In conclusion, I want to emphasize the importance of having a knowledgeable teacher, rather than just a person who is motivated by money but does not genuinely teach students. A teacher’s primary objective should be to educate their pupils regardless of cost, implementing new methods of delivering material, tolerating students’ lack of understanding, and boosting their motivation whenever possible.
