Nowadays, many universities are providing online courses, which makes higher education easier to access. Some think that online learning could replace traditional classes due to its beneficial and convenient nature. I believe the advantages of online learning outweigh those of traditional classes.
The main advantage is the flexibility of online classes. Students can access the class whenever they want without attending in person. The world is getting more modernized day by day, and not too many people can do multiple things at the same time, so this is considered one of the best solutions for anyone still wanting to pursue an academic path.
Moving to the second advantage, which is lower cost. Since they don’t have to attend the class in person, they are already saving on transportation fees. It’s also convenient for someone who’s busy, as they can learn the courses from anywhere. Online programs are often cheaper than on-campus courses because students save money on accommodation.
However, online learning has notable disadvantages that traditional classes address better. It’s good for someone who’s disciplined in learning, but there is a lack of face-to-face interaction, where students can’t ask tutors directly when they are struggling with studying. Some of them could get distracted by electrical devices such as phones, laptops, etc., because young generations tend to use mobile devices for multiple purposes; using them whenever they get bored is not an exception.
Overall, although offline learning offers valuable social and interactive experiences. The greater accessibility, flexibility, and affordability of online degrees mean that their advantages outweigh the disadvantages.
