Many cities are tackling traffic related challenges. This essay will look at the main reasons for this problem and propose some possible ways of resolving them. Usage of private automobiles has become an internal part of our lives.
One of the main causes of traffic congestion is lack of pedestrian zones and cycling lanes. In recent years usage of private automobiles has become an internal part of our lives. Because there are not adequate cycling lanes, and even while using bicycles a significant number of people are facing risk of injuries. As a result people prefer to use cars instead of bicycles which are the cause of traffic problems. Similarly, not having enough public transportation. If the government funds public transportation such as; metro, bus and subway more this will encourage individuals to utilize them more.
To address these issues, several measures can be implemented. First, the government can enhance cycling lanes and pedestrian zones by making them safer. Investing safe cycling infrastructure and walkable cities can encourage alternative modes of transportation. Second, introducing stricter laws and regulation for pedestrians and cyclists. Because an abundance of reckless drives cause a threat for them. By regulating laws stricter usage of alternatives for cars could increase. Finally, expanding public transport by making them more efficient and affordable. When alternative transportations are cost-effective and less crowded citizens are more likely to use them.
In conclusion, traffic congestion is a pressing issue for urban areas. By developing cycling lanes and pedestrian zones, enacting and enforcing stricter regulations and expanding public transport these countries can mitigate the traffic problem.
