It is becoming increasingly common for marriage ceremonies to be costlier and bigger than they used to be in the past. I believe this development is both positive and negative.
On the one hand, this trend plays a negative role in the society. This is because vast amount of money is spent on prestigious restaurants, eminent singers and as a number of people invited there, there should be enough food for per person. All of them becomes a financial burden for the couple and their family. Moreover, most of the money is wasted for decoration and foods. For example, in marriage parties, there will be several types of meals, salads and drinks which are not even tasted and directly thrown out after the wedding. Apart from that, decoration and restaurant will cost a lot of money which makes the couple to get married later to make the money for the wedding.
On the other hand, luxurious weddings are regarded as positive for several reasons. Firstly, the one positive side of this practice is it strengthen the relationship between relatives. This is because, in every wedding, it is common that all relatives are supposed to gather and have a nice time together after which they manage to reinforce relationship and make a strong bond between them. Another benefit of luxurious weddings is that it creates job opportunities by providing workforce to serve guests. The wedding industry provides job for planners, designers, florists, photographers and many more professionals.
In conclusion, although such luxurious weddings are negative development in terms of waste of money and food as well as delayed marriage among couples, they have a positive impact on strengthening relationships and creating job opportunities.
