Some people believe that mathematical skills are more essential than communication skills in real life. While mathematical knowlegde might be very practical in life, I mainly disagree with that oponion, as communication is the skill every person needs to be a decent member of society.
Firstly, communication skills are assential for proper functioning in everyday life. If a person is not capable of interaction with other people, they will probably not be able to build relationships which are crucial for becoming a member of society. For example, of a child does not know how to make friends at school, they might carry this problem through their life and will not be able to build a relationship at university or at work. This is why good communication skills help a person to interact successfully with other people thoughout their life.
Although matematical skills are very important as they are the basis of critical thinking, I believe that communication skills are more essential. Being good at mathematics is a skill that is not applicable in any situation that may come up in one’s life. For example, knowing trigonometry probably will not rescue you if you get into serious situation in life and cannot solve it on your own, but communication skills might help with it. The whole society is based on relationships of different kinds, and this is why being a communicative person is a more applicable and valuable skill.
In conclusion, while mathematical skills might be very useful in a person’s life, I believe that having good communication skills is more important and widely applicable in everyday life.
