I agree with this point of view. In this essay, I will discuss how violent materials in modern video games affect young players’ mental health, behavior, and how this creates a tendency for violence among young males.
Firstly, the bond between violent video games affects young players’ mental health and behavior. Numerous researchers confirm that the majority of young players who are addicted to violent video games are generally more introverted and aggressive than those who do not play. For instance, they may develop impulsive control disorders over time; moreover, it can lead them to harm others. As a consequence, young players may struggle to cope even if they do not outwardly show the effects of it.
Secondly, another related challenge is how they remain exposed to violence, which can lead to a tendency toward violence among young males. Given that most young players are males interested in violence, these games can encourage such tendencies. For example, these games may even push young males toward self-harm. In 2015, there was a game called The Whale, which, at its final level, instructed players to take their own lives. As a result, many young males tragically died.
In conclusion, while video games can be entertaining and appealing, in my opinion, violent content in these games has harmful effects on young players. As a matter of fact, it can affect mental health and increase the tendency for violence among young males; ultimately, no game should hurt anyone, and they can be developed and changed.
