Band 5+: More and more people are relying on the private car as their major means of transportation. Describe some of the problems over-reliance on cars can cause, and suggest at least one possible solution.

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

Nowadays, several individuals have been buying and using private cars as their daily mode of transportation. Although users view it as beneficial, others think that it has some significant issues which could affect our society, environment and health. This essay will discuss these issues and some solution it might help.

There are several problems could arise if people are being dependent to using cars on their day to day basis. First of which, its effect in our environment, the air pollution or the release of gas emission could contribute to global warming and this will result to severe weather conditions and floods. For instance, a few months ago, the Philippines had experience around 5 typhoons in just a period of 1 month which resulted to heavy floods, damages of agriculture and houses. Another common problem of this is the traffic congestion. For instance, in cities, it has been a day to day struggle for travelers and enforcers. It would take them time before they reach their arrival destination, most of them arrived. Therefore, it would be better if the government with the cooperation of every individual must find an effective solution to address these problems.

To address these problems, I believe, the government should establish a long-term effective solution which could benefit both the society and people. One of which for instance, is to provide or build a fast, convenient, affordable and accessible public transportation. This might attract private car users to utilize this transportation instead of using their private cars daily.

To conclude, over-relying to cars might be convenient to some as their daily means of transport, however, there are some issues accompanying it. Thus, it is better that the government must find a long-term effective solution that would be beneficial to both the society and people in the future.
