Nowadays, the phenomenon of hunting and damaging wild animals is a worldwide alarming matter, leading animals into extinction and endangerment. This catastrophic reality is caused by several factors, however, through effective and timely measures we can address this problem. This essay will provide some reasons and solutions for the mentioned statement.
One of the most significant causes related to this issue is the loss of animals’ habitat. This mainly comes from deforestation and urbanization, which is attributed to human’s demand for natural resources and living spaces. Specifically, when the population is growing day by day, citizens need places to live or build community infrastructure. As a result, they clear the forest to make way for their structures. Building these construction not only requires space but also materials, especially wood. Therefore, it is also a reason for them to exploit the woods to fill their material demands. Secondly, another issue for the loss of animals is illegal wildlife trade and poaching. It can be obviously seen that creatures which contain valuable or exotic body parts or products such as rhino, monkey, elephant,… are very easy to become the victims of hunters. This detrimental phenomenon has contributed to the extinction of several species in the world.
A possible solution to this issue would be to enact and enforce stricter regulations about protecting animals as well as preventing illegal wildlife trade and poaching activities. Beside that, the government should establish some protected areas or national parks in order to preserve the habitat and the natural biodiversity. By doing this, it would have a positive effect on maintaining the population and variety of species. Another possible way to address this issue is raising public awareness is also an imperative way. To achieve this, we need to highlight the importance of wildlife conservation through media campaigns, advertisements because of the widespread use of information in a technological way nowadays so that people are able to access this knowledge. For instance, many companies are now focusing on delivering the message about protecting the environment, habitat and animals. Moreover, emphasizing the significance of biodiversity in the educational program is worth noting to deal with this terrible phenomenon. Many schools have plans to take their students to the national parks or preservation areas to inform and encourage them about protecting animals.
To sum up, wild species are now facing eradication and threatening problems. Nevertheless, we can deal with these obstacles by applying these solutions above. It is essential that governments/individuals take action to address this problem before it worsens. Together, we can protect the creatures because preserving them means we are protecting ourselves.
