It is well known that pupils take up various activities during the holidays as a form of entertainment. Some say they would rather help those in need through voluntair work while others argue students should take up a part time job in order to earn money.
There are many positives that exist on the side of voluntaring. To begin with, holidays are a time during which everyone tries to do a good deed thus helping those in need is a good way of doing that.For example one could voluntair at an elderly home to make their days more intersting and to make them feel cared about. Furthermore students can learn that not everything is about money. To clarify some often think that doing something without getting payed is not of importance therefore voluntaring can be a smart way of teaching them the oppositte.
On the contrary others believe a job would be a better option. To start with, earnining money will teach pupils to be mindful of their spending habits. For instance when their parents give them some pocket money they will spend it on less important things but once they earn their own by working, students will be more carefull while buying something.Another point is that they could help their elders with money issues that they are faceing. Some families struggle financually so by working pupils will have the abilty to help out during the hard time making the family less stressed and more finnacually stable.
In conclusion there are positive sides on both opinnions. Voluntaring is a great way of taking adavatage of the holiday spirit while working for money is a good lesson on value of money. In my opinion working for money could be more beneficial for a pupil.
