Band 4+: Most people accept that we now live in a globalised world but not everyone agrees that this is beneficial. To what extent is globalisation a positive or negative development?

It is true that we now live in a globalized world. Some people argue that globalised world is beneficial for them while other believes that it has negative impacts to the world.

In the first place, the globalization has brings a lot of positive impacts to the people. Firstly, with the development of new technology and quick mode of transportation. It is very easier to access information from around the globe with in a day. This helps us to make a penpal who is far away from us and consequently gain more information of their area’s geography, culture, language and soon. Secondly, globalization also has boost the economy of any country. Owing to the fact that it has help any nation to set up industries as well as rocket the tourism sector. Industralization also aids in the import and export of any goods worldwide whereever there is need. This is why economy of any country is stabilized by globalization.

On the other hand, there are also certain negative impacts due to globalization. Risk of loosing identity is one of them. Since globalization can easily influences to any individual via technology. Particularly, in south east Asia people are now into the western culture by the impact of globalization. As a result, there is risk that their own culture, language and dress are in virtue of extinction. Additionally another impact may be on labour right. By globalization, international company starts their business or industry in developing or under developed country where cheap labor are available. And those company makes them to work hard against the policy of International Labor organization. This impacts the worker’s health in future.

In conclusion, It is undeniable that globalization has their own positive and negative impact in the life of individuals.
