It is often considered that allocating money to enhance the quality of life on Earth, explore space instead. I personally believe that a balanced approach is necessary.
On the one hand, investing in the quality of life on Earth is undouble. Governments have a responsibility to ensure the well-being of their citizens by providing quality healthcare, education, and infrastructure. Moreover, with pressing issues such as climate change and global health crises, it is needed that resources are allocated to address these challenges. If, in contrast, we ignored these concerns, it could lead to dangerous consequences.
On the other hand, space exploration has the potential to benefit humanity in ways we cannot fully comprehend yet. The knowledge about our universe can lead to technological advancements that improve life on Earth. For instance, satellite technology, a product of space exploration, has improved communication.
In conclusion, while improving the quality of life on Earth is a pressing concern that deserves significant investment, it does not mean completely ignore space exploration. A balanced approach, where resources are invested in both developments, might provide the most positive outcome for us.
