I strongly disagree with the idea Museums and art galleries should only display local works rather than multi-cultural artworks.
Art is a form of creation and imagination that independent from cultural and national limitations by its abstarct nature. Preventing that source of imagination and emotion displaying method spreading in any way, shall damage the peace, understanding and harmony among nations and cultures since art is a concept that contains different aspects of life and the subjects that relatid with it.
If we consider about pros and cons; yes maybe local artists will be more visible and acceptable by local community and visiters inevitably. However we can count the local community’s lost towards various perspectives in the cons list. Displays of local works of certain cultures is surely necessary to share and teach about the culture itself but limiting that network through forbids for multi-cultural exhibitions would narrow the art’s duties down.
