There is a widespread opinion that countries should produce their own products which are included in consumer basket and reduce import as much as possible. I share the view that if the government will make such decision, it will lead only to advantages.
A good reason to rely on the county’s own resources is that the rates of employment will rise. Authorities will inevitably create more workplaces, so more people will be ingaged in manufacturing, distributing and selling foods which are necessary for daily consuming. As a result, country will stimulate domestic production and foster its own development for the economic growth.
Another point to consider is that self-catered countries will provide cheaper products for their citizens. It will be due to the fact that they will refuse from competeting in the international market. For exapmle, few Asian countries implemented import restrictions and it had an impact on rates of poverty and public health. Therefore, domestic products will be more nutritious and affordable for every individual.
In conclusion,I support the idea that countries which depend on its own assets and supplies will provide prosperous and healthier lives. The rates of unemployment will significantly decline and foods will be sold at a reasonable prices.
