Technology plays a pivotal role in the conventional society because human has developed so many gadgets with its help that are helping humans in different fields. Similarly, the new inventions, like new household appliance, made the job of women easy as they can focus both work and home altogether. This essay will critically examine this phenomenon and determine whether its cons outweigh its pros.
Inflation is all time high in these day that makes it difficult to run the house by a single income. That made it compulsory to have a supplementary income which comes when women go out and earn. For instances, the prices of groceries are soaring up, making the day-to-day existence difficult. Therefore, if a mother can also earn some money, it would take some pressure off the man’s shoulders. Additionally, office work also affects the self-esteem and confidence of the individual. Since people meet new people and they get to learn something new that increases their horizons, it gives the overall satisfaction in life. Since, it has been proved that the appreciation from other, getting validation related to the work necessarily work toward the job satisfaction which in turn relates to the mental health.
However, some advocates that a women should solely focus on the household work. They think that if a women is working, it neglects her duties as mother. Consequently, she would not be able to give her undivided attention to the kid. For instance, in the corporate world with the strict deadlines, it can be very demanding for everyone as they have to work the extended hours to make the ends meet. For a mother, it would definitely affect the child if there is no one to take care for him/her. It surely overshadowed the responsibility of the mother. Secondly, the timing of the job are generally from 9 am to 5 pm but the child’s school doesn’t match the office hours, in this case a kid has to spend their time in creches or with their grandparent which are old to take care of the kid. Therefore, it is the necessity that the women should focus on only on home.
In conclusion, some positive steps should be taken by both parents. They both should take the responsibility of their kid instead of putting in on the shoulder of just one person. Although it has its own disadvantage, but with some adjustments, it is beneficial for the whole family if the mother is working outside.
