The use of visual aid such as video, picture, and infographic is increasing in the modern new. While many argue that these pictures are more effective than words. I agree with this opinion.
Firstly, pictures can capture complex events and easily transmission than the words. For example, some photograph shows some place destroyed by natural disaster in Japan, or just one month ago when an airplane in Korean got crashed when it tried to lane, with the photograph, the news can show viewers at that time how terrible the event was, and it can provide a sense of immediacy and urgency that written report may lack.
Secondly, pictures have the potential impact to viewer’s emotion and action. This is because the visual images can create reactions in the viewer, stirring empathy or outrage in the way that words cannot. For example, all the images about people and family with young kids run out their country because the war can elicit strong feelings of compassion and motivate people to take action to help them.
Finally, pictures sometimes can easily lead some people who think some fake or unbelieve information can become true information. For example, some journalists or news writers give input some information is wrong in reality but they leave some photo and create it as a news and that would lead who accident read that news think it is true.
In conclusion, I believe that pictures are more effective than words in news reporting. They have the power to capture complex events, evoke emotions, and lead to the viewers follows base on the information. Since they are so powerful, it is crucial for journalists to use them responsibly and ethically.
