When I was a kid, I was helping my parents on their farm located in a little town in Massachusetts. Growing crops had never been an easy task; however, we usually had much fun with my siblings while doing our chores. Our parents taught us the value of hard work and independence, which had a profound impact on my young mind. I usually shared those ideas with my classmates at the local school, as we were all keen on dreaming about the life when the liberty would be ours.
However, the tensions with Britain escalated and changed our life, as we were all forced to pay an extra taxes. It was a tough period of time for my family, both financially and mentally, because the struggle for independence turned into a personal war of saving our way of living.
After the war had ended, the penny had dropped, and everything seemed to settle down but me, because this experience completely changed me forever, and all the hardships I went through made me even stronger in standing for what I believe is right.
