Many people have eaten fast food in recent years because its price is so reasonable and convenient. Although there are some benefits to this phenomenon, I would argue that they are overshadowed by the drawbacks.
There are some minor basic benefits from consuming junk food. And the most obvious benefit is its availability. In modern urban life, almost everyone may not have enough time to cook two or three times a day. And, together with the appearance of fast food chains all over the city, citizen prefer to take snacks in stores than to have home-cooked food, which sometimes takes time to prepare and is more expensive. Consequently, when customers are used to the strong taste of industrial food, they cannot enjoy food that uses less spice at home.
Despite the above-mentioned ideas, I believe that fast food is a major damaging result to human health in recent decades. For instance, the number of cases of high blood pressure, diabetes, and metabolic disorders has increased seriously. That is the inevitable result of a long-time maintenance of unhealthy eating habits. Moreover, when young buyer eat fried chicken, hamburger, ect.. as their main meals, it makes them obesity, malnutrition, and many other harmful effect on the physical development and future statue. Last but not least, the lack of family meals leads to misconnections among members. This becomes the beginning of other troubles, such as misunderstandings, lack of sympathy, and lack of care for each other in modern city families.
In conclusion, for the reasons I have mentioned above, it seems to me that urban recidents need to raise their conceptions about healthy meals. The price be paid for the economic benefits and convenience of fast food will be very high—it might be too late until it happens.
