It is increasingly common that people in several countries are living apart from their families, which may be fueled by some factors of lifestyle. In my opinion, both those people and their loved ones can be affected due to the loss of family bonds.
One factor contributing to this is to pay full attention to their own business. Some would not like to be distracted by other family members so they decide to live apart. For example, some website developers may stay in silence and keep themselves away from their relatives since those people could influence the former’s task by giving advice or speaking. As a result, their work could be completed with hyper focus. Besides, family altercation could lead to the desire for staying away from their family. The conflict which stems from generation gap or dysfunctional family will demotivate people and make them feel more exhausted. For example, when parents have an argument, most people cannot bear the situation. Spending time away from the families could derive from people’s focus on business or the family conflict, which may trigger some unpreferable effects.
Some impacts such as emotional detachment and the loss of connection could be experienced by both individuals and their loved ones. As a matter of fact, most individuals seem to be less sympathetic due to the distance from the family. Consequently, they could not only lack openness but also find it difficult to share their stories. For example, some teenagers struggle to tell their problems to their parents because of the loss of openness. In terms of family members, they could feel lost in the family bond since they decrease levels of trust, so family would not become an ideal place to share the day. Hence, both those people and family may be negatively affected by living apart such as the loss in relationship.
In conclusion, living apart from the family could be generated by some factors of business or conflict. However, this could bring those people as well as other members in a family the loss of connection.
