Wide generation gap between young people and old generation have different perspective towards things and situations. Older people in our country, for instance, holds conservative views regarding family structures because they like the culture of joint family whereas young people prefer to live in nuclear family. This results in conflict between the two parties and increases differences. Another point worth mentioning is that the widespread availability and use of technology, such as smartphones and social media, has led to a shift in the way people communicate and socialize, especially among younger generations. However, old generations could be unfamiliar with catching up with new technologies.
Chief among these is that spending quality time with older generation will help in reducing the gap and will improve the bond between two. Indeed, people will be able to understand each other better if they listen to other’s viewpoint. Additionally, technology can be used to facilitate intergenerational communication and bring people together, for example, through video calls or virtual events.
