People have different views about international tourism. While some people reckon that it has become a significant contributor to the development of many countries, others may be convinced that it fosters tension. From my perspective, the merits of external tourism vastly eclipse the its demerits
On the one hand, I have to concede that international tourism may result in some negative consequences. The main drawback is that the increase in foreign visitors often leads to environmental damages. Popular tourist destinations struggle with waste management issues which negatively impact local communities and ecosystems. For instance, Bali, a famous destination in Indonesia, has experienced severe pollution, with its beaches increasingly covered in litter due to the overtourism. Another reason is the deterioration of historical sites as cultural misunderstandings and negligence often result in damage to artifacts and heritage sites. For example, constant touching of ancient statues can cause them to lose their original aesthetic appeal. Over time, this leads to the degradation of cultural heritage, reducing the historical significance of these sites for future generations.
Despite the aforementioned disadvantages, from my perspective, these drawbacks pale in comparison with their benefits. Firstly, it is obvious that exterior tourism plays a crucial role in boosting national economies as tourism revenue can account for a substantial portion of a nation’s economy. This financial contribution helps to revive many historical destinations or to mitigate the negative effects of the environment in that country. To add further credence to my assertion, I note that global tourism encourages diplomatic ties among countries and cultural exchange. By building strong diplomatic relationships create a stable environment that attracts foreign investment, which can fuel economic growth and development in both developed and emerging markets. A forward-thinking approach to international relations ensures that countries are better prepared to handle potential challenges, such as economic downturns or environmental crises, by securing support from international partners leading to long-term benefits.
In conclusion, despite the setbacks in terms of the rise in global tourism, I am completely in favor of international tourism having contributed greatly to the development of some countries since their upsides are substantially weighteir.
