It is becoming increasingly common these days for parents to send their children abroad for their education. However, the effects of this phenomenon are not entirely positive. I believe there are both upsides and downsides to this trend.
Getting an education overseas can bring significant benefits. The first advantage is that it helps young people learn independence. Teenagers have to do everything themselves, such as cooking, cleaning the house, and taking care of themselves, without relying on the help of their family. Furthermore, students graduating from a prestigious international university will have more job opportunities with higher salaries than those who study domestically. Additionally, another beneficial development is that living in another culture abroad allows young people to sharpen their language skills and improve their social communication abilities.
In spite of these positive effects, studying abroad can also bring challenges. Living away from home and in a completely unfamiliar environment can easily make international students feel lost and homesick. In other words, most young children are dependent on their parents and lack the skills and knowledge to look after themselves.Secondly, studying overseas may come with a greater financial burden. Living alone without family, most international students face financial difficulties.
Overall, sending children to school abroad presents both advantages and disadvantages. While there may be some drawbacks, it can also offer significant benefits.
