Band 4+: Nowadays many people read the news online instead of reading newspapers or watching TV discuss the positive and negative effects of this trend

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

These days digitalization is the other of the day making individuals shift their mindset from traditional way of getting information lost its spice, these prompt many to assume that news on the web is easier rather than waiting for days to get information or sit for hours watching unnecessary advertisement in other to get details of an event .These essay will discuss the merits and demerits of this occurrence as there is a two side of the coin on this.

On the one hand, the use of technological devices to get details has proven to be the easiest form of knowing the current trend because it is readily available irrespective of the time and locations. Also it can be gotten in one’s choice of language as compared to watching television most times the news is broadcast in the indigenous language making those who are not familiar with the language loose interest on the information.Moreso, availability of details on the web create room for others to share their opinion and critics as well.

Additionally, online news saves time because one can search for the information online with their smartphones while on short breaks to get a glimpse of the news without sitting for a long period of time.furthermore,it is cost effective in that it doesn’t require subscription to a package on Tv channels nor trying to purchase newspaper.

On the other hand local news has proven to be the only legalised and legitimate source of information as it curbs lots of fake information which can put the masses on tense leading to stress, although it is reliable but it consumes time ,and lots of advertisement. If government can enact laws to reduce the rate of advertisement and also on the internet this will help news both locally and digitally to be trusted.

Conclusively, lots of people are now drifting into online news abandoning the traditional source of information ,as it tends to minimise time while it has its own benefit it is cost effective and save time, most of their news are false. But local news still remain the best source of information, both have it’s own ups and down.if government can enact laws that will curbs long advertisement and fake news online it will help to reduce demerits associated with ways of getting information.
