It is often argued that young people should work in unpaid community in their leisure time. I agree with this view because unpaid community work not only develops practical skills such as communication but also make them responsible at an early age.
To begin with, working in unpaid community builds communication skills. They meet new people and have to share their work with them. when they are working, they have to communicate properly and divide work in order. For example, local non profit shops, in that they have to speak to every single customer. They may start to learn the customer behavior and their needs. As a result, their communication will improve gradually.
Another benefit of working as volunteer in community is that they become responsible at an early age. When they start to work in younger age, they may face challenges in work environment such as customer complain , how to handle the pressure situations. Once they go through this kind of problems, they may become more mature and realize the value of hard work. As a result, they may not afraid of taking responsibilities in the future.
In conclusion, although working at an early age as volunteer is very difficult and challenging, it develops useful skill like communication and makes them responsible.
