Band 6+: Some people think that teenagers should do some unpaid work in the local community. Some people believe that it benefit both young people and society as a whole. To what extend do you agree or disagree?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

In contemporary society, the young generation are often subjected to a cozy lifestyle and it is important that they understand the values of social work. It helps build an inter-personal connection as well as make them understand the crucial role that community activities has in everyday life .Some people often say that the youth should do service activities without being remunerated.

Many people belive that teenagers should do unpaid community work as it will help them understand more about the crucial role of community service activities. Proponents to this also say that it will also help the society grow as there is no extra charges incurred. For example social service activities like food distribution, cleaning drives and blood donation especially when done without any fees levied on economically poor community, will have a postive impact on each of their lives . When younger people are the volunteers of such activities they get motivated to do more just by watching the happiness it spreads upon the community .

Conversely there are people who advocate that teenagers should do community activities but they argue that teens should be given a small amount to show the appreciation by the society. It is true that young people might get motivated by doing community work but it is important to give them a small amount so that they will feel obligated and responsible to do more. By giving them small amount of money it will help them meet their needs . Doing food distribution, blood donation campaigns helps the children to step out of their comfort zones . This is an initial step to success. As a famous quote says a journey of a thousand miles begins with simple steps.

In my opinion while there are benefits of having teenagers do community work it is imperative that after some time they might loose the drive to participate again for such activities. So it is important that they are properly educated about the impact that the community work has on the society as a whole . This will allow them to understand that they are playing a major role in shaping the environment around them . Rather than just giving them money institutions can also give them extra grace marks , credits etc for their school work . This will have a good impact on their lives as they are not merely focused on the concept of money but on the broader picture .

In conclusion we can say that, without question community works benefit teenagers lives in a major manner. I completely support the concept of youth helping in social service activities as it will help raise a generation rooted in morals and building an environment where the society can thrive .
