The trend of purchasing things of expensive and renowned brands is gaining ground due to certain reasons. In my perspective, it is a negative attitude.
As per the reasons, the most obvious one could be the status symbol that people hold by owning expensive things. To explain, by wearing popular, particularly pricey, accessories, people can easily exhibit their wealth in the society. It is also undeniable that a financially well-off person grabs more attention and respect among public. Another factor which is equally responsible for such a tendency is that the products of costly brands are more durable than those of other inexpensive companies. It can be observed that the more the price of products, the higher the quality. Hence, people incline towards buying costly things.
Nevertheless, purchasing expensive brands could lead to certain severe repercussions. Firstly, it is wastage of money when people expend exorbitantly on buying famous brands, although they can simply rely upon using inexpensive things. Secondly, it is hazardous not only for customers, but also for the poor section of the society. In aspects of consumers, as real and excellent famous brands are limited, the rising demand leads to the production of fake products, thus affecting the quality. In context of poor, by watching upper strata of the society using high-priced things, they attempt to imitate them. However, lack of money does not allow them to be a part of the vogue. Therefore, they feel depressed.
In conclusion, although social status and durability of expensive brands attract people to buy them, it has some repercussions in the society.
