Band 5+: Nowadays more and more people have access to the Internet. But constant availability of any information worsens people's memory and critical thinking skills. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

It is thought by some individuals that continuous availability of any information degenerates people’s ability to remember and critical thinking skills. This essay strongly agree that constant availability of any information worsens our memory and critical thinking skills. Firstly, this essay will discuss why people should use the internet properly and secondly, the negative impacts is people don’t use properly.

The main reason to support my view is that we should search the internet only for information that is very important and necessary to us. Because any information that is important to us can occupy our brain and as a result, we may not be able to memorize other information that we need for our work and studies. For instance, according to an article by the World Explore in 2022, thousand of people around the world suffer from the inability to remember important information.

On the other hand, people should pay attention to the accuracy and reliability of information on the internet. Because nowadays anyone can post any information on the internet and not many people know how true it is. As a result, people may get wrong information from the internet and people’s ability to think critically. In addition, some unproven information on the internet that creates panic an fear can cause people to become stressed. For example, according to the approximate calculation of Japanese researchers, tens of thousand of unreliable information are posted on the net in a day.

In conclusion, I strongly agree that we should only get information from the internet which is useful for us. Because any unnecessary information worsens our memory and critical thinking skills.
