Nowadays people are moving from rural areas to urban areas for jobs & better life. In this contemporary era, individuals are shifting from the countryside to cities for a better standard of living. This essay intends to explain pros and cons of this trend. To begin with, discussing the merits of migrating from rural to towns. Obviously, living in urban areas is time-saving. To explain, in this modern world everyone has shortage of time, if people are living in the cities then only do not have to waste time on reaching to their jobs or businesses. Hence, it will save people’s time as well as their money. Furthermore, in cities there are more opportunities and facilities. To justify, there are plethora of facilities which people can use if they live in cities such as advanced healthcare, well-renowned universities and transportation which is notavailable in small towns.
On the other hand, there are notable demerits as well. Firstly, moving to urban areas will affect the space as cities are already struggling with space. To elaborate, having a large population puts too much pressure on natural resources, amenities and services. It will create more traffic which leads to more pollution. As a result, city life can be more unhealthy and stressful. Secondly, it will put impact on agriculture. To explain, agriculture is the major source of income in India. It will decrease the productivity so the prices of edible items will increase.
To conclude, although moving to urban areas have a lot of positives such as job option, better lifestyle in terms of healthcare and education, but it also destroys the agriculture as well as increased the overpopulation problems in urban areas.
